LZPU Indonesia International Culture Festival Concludes Successfully
From News Center (Text by Zuo Yingzi, School of International Education; Photo by Pan Hanchang and Tang Juanjuan, Convergence Media Center) Graceful Indonesian traditional dance steps, the enticing aroma of signature cuisine, and stunning traditional martial arts performances filled the campus with vibrant energy. On December 28, 2025, Liuzhou Polytechnic University (LZPU) Indonesia International Culture Festival officially opened amid great enthusiasm. Rich Indonesian cultural elements transformed the campus into an immersive cultural space, allowing faculty and students to experience the dynamic integration of Chinese and Indonesian cultures, and building a vivid bridge for in-depth cultural exchange.
At the event venue, Indonesian international students served as "cultural ambassadors", joining hands with Chinese students to launch a series of friendly cross-cultural interactions. In the food zone, Indonesian students patiently taught their Chinese peers how to knead fish cakes and prepare coconut milk, while sharing folk stories and customs from their hometowns during the cooking process. In the handicraft DIY zone, Chinese and Indonesian students worked together to create Batik handicrafts, experiencing distinctive cultural aesthetics firsthand. On stage, students from both countries performed traditional dances together, with cheerful laughter and rhythmic music weaving into a unique and joyful harmony. Through hands-on experiences such as preparing foreign cuisine and dancing traditional dances together, Chinese students moved beyond textbook-based understanding and gained a more vivid and three-dimensional appreciation of the culture of the "Country of a Thousand Islands". At the same time, their cross-cultural communication skills and empathy were naturally strengthened through close interaction.
As an institution deeply committed to internationalized education, LZPU has consistently advanced both "bringing in" and "going out" strategies, creating diverse platforms for student exchange. LZPU has organized Chinese students to participate in skills competitions in Indonesia and cultural exchange programs in Vietnam, and plans to further expand exchange channels with Russia and Belarus. In parallel, LZPU has introduced micro-majors in less commonly taught languages and established a "major + language" training pathway, supporting outstanding students in overseas exchange and study programs and laying a solid foundation for future cross-border employment and career development.
Through repeated cross-cultural engagement, Chinese students have learned to approach cultural differences with openness and respect, while deepening their recognition and confidence in their own culture through comparison and mutual learning. This lively cultural festival not only allowed Indonesian culture to take root on campus, but also vividly demonstrated LZPU's practical efforts to build people-to-people connections through vocational education.
